Olympus viewer 3 change import location
The TG-5 changed how location data is recorded. Besides the apps previously mentioned, any good EXIF viewer provides a quick way to verify the GPS tags are present.

This is shown on page 19 of the PDF manual. You can verify that GPS coordinates were recorded in the playback display. If you use the GPS a lot, you should periodically download AGPS coordinates from Olympus using their AGPS app (I do this for my TG-6 roughly every two weeks). I would assume there are countless other photo or exif programs that can show your photos on a map or least reveal their lat/long coordinates. Just import your images and go to Other > Map and you'll see your photos on a map. eg įor desktop solutions there is "DarkTable" (Lightroom competitor). Google My Maps can import as a layer a Google Photo album you create as well.įlickr albums are also viewable on a map.just suffix "/map" to the url and you'll see your Flickr album on an interactive map. Just upload your photo and click the google map link to see where the picture was taken. Many programs can view these coordinates. If you have this on, your photos will include lat/long won't matter if you have the tracker switch on or off. I do leave this on and it provides good results. This will include the lat/long coordinates if you have "Record GPS Location" on (main menu > group g). This does consume battery juice even when off.so I'm not a fan and I don't use this. This will periodically record a "breadcrumb" file that is nice for seeing things like hiking history. The tracker will only be activated if you toggle the top switch on. Olympus communicates this very poorly.but they actually have two GPS functions. I don't have the TG-5, but I do have the TG-6 which I assume is similar.

If the GPS data is accessible, could you tell me how? I have tried the olympus PC and smart phone apps without any success. Does anyone know if the Olympus TG5 records GPS data with each photo if the Log switch (on top of the camera) is off? I set the camera to record GPS data to each photo via the menu, and set the GPS to prioritise accuracy.
